嫦娥奔月的故事英文版简写

Chang'e Flew to the Moon

In ancient China, there was a beautiful goddess named Chang'e. She was married to a skilled archer named Hou Yi. One day, ten suns appeared in the sky and scorched the earth. Hou Yi used his bow and arrow to shoot down nine of the suns, saving the people. As a reward, the Queen Mother of the West gave him a pill that would make him immortal.

However, Hou Yi did not want to become immortal without his beloved wife. He gave the pill to Chang'e to keep it safe. One day, a thief broke into their home and tried to steal the pill. In order to protect it, Chang'e swallowed it and flew to the moon.

From then on, Chang'e lived on the moon, where she was worshipped as the Moon Goddess. She missed her husband dearly and often looked down at the earth, hoping to see him again.

To this day, the Chinese people celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in honor of Chang'e and her sacrifice. They eat mooncakes, which are round pastries with a sweet filling, and gaze at the full moon, thinking of the beloved goddess who resides there.
